The Municipality of Paxoi is proceeding with the implementation of the project “Digital Transformation of the Municipality of Paxoi into a Smart City”, an integrated initiative aimed at modernising municipal infrastructure and services, implemented in collaboration with DOTSOFT S.A.

The project is funded through the “Antonis Tritsis” Programme of the Ministry of Interior and is aligned with the Municipality’s strategy to improve citizens’ daily lives, reduce its energy and environmental footprint, and enhance the digital operation of municipal services.

The scope of the project includes the implementation of two main functional modules:

Smart lighting for the roads and squares of the Municipality of Paxoi As part of the project, a comprehensive smart control system for municipal street lighting will be delivered and commissioned. The system includes the supply and installation of 250 LED lighting fixtures, equipped with sensors and remote management capabilities.

The system enables the management of each lighting fixture individually, providing the following capabilities:

• remote switching on and off,
• adjustment and modification of lighting levels,
• continuous monitoring of the condition and operation of the lighting fixtures,
• immediate detection of faults and malfunctions.

The system’s operation is supported by central remote monitoring software and energy consumption measurement capabilities, contributing to maximum energy efficiency, reduced operational costs and the optimisation of the Municipality’s lighting infrastructure utilisation.

B. Integrated smart management system for the Municipality’s infrastructure and operations

At the same time, a comprehensive digital smart management system for the activities and operations of the Municipality of Paxoi is being implemented, aiming to:

• the modernisation of municipal structures,
• the digitalisation and organisation of municipal services,
• the collection, processing and utilisation of critical data.

The system includes digital platforms for the management of resources and infrastructure, business intelligence tools, a central platform for data collection and processing, as well as the necessary network infrastructure to ensure their secure and reliable operation.

Through these solutions, the Municipality enhances the prevention and management of challenges associated with climate change, including the management of natural resources, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and improved waste management. At the same time, emphasis is placed on familiarising citizens with new technologies, ensuring that digital solutions are effectively adopted and deliver maximum benefits.

With the completion of the project, the Municipality of Paxoi acquires a modern, scalable and sustainable smart city digital ecosystem, which improves residents’ quality of life, enhances the Municipality’s operational efficiency and establishes a solid foundation for the future.
