SETPE Supports IPICS 2026 – International Summer School on Cybersecurity for ICT Professionals

Dear Members,

The Association of Hellenic Information Technology Enterprises (SETPE), in collaboration with PRIVACT I.K.E., a spin-off company of the University of the Aegean, is actively participating as a supporter of the Intensive Programme on Information & Communication Security – IPICS 2026, an international summer school of high academic standing.

IPICS 2026 will take place from 6 to 17 July 2026 in Mytilene and is organised by the Laboratory for Privacy Protection Technologies & Information Applications in Social Sciences – PrivaSI Lab of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean, under the scientific supervision of Professor Christos Kalloniatis, Director of PrivaSI Lab.

The summer programme is co-organised by the Norwegian Computing Center – NR, as part of the CybAlliance project, which focuses on security, privacy and privacy-preserving approaches in healthcare applications.

With a long-standing presence in the international academic community, IPICS has established itself as one of the most recognised European educational and specialisation programmes in the fields of cybersecurity, personal data protection, privacy and the security of modern digital infrastructures.

SETPE’s support for this year’s event is part of its consistent institutional commitment to strengthening knowledge, expertise and the international outlook of ICT companies. At a time when cybersecurity has become a critical factor for business operations, the reliability of digital services and data protection, the participation of IT professionals in such initiatives is of particular importance.

The programme is primarily aimed at postgraduate students, PhD candidates, final-year students with a background in information systems security, as well as IT professionals interested in gaining a comprehensive overview of recent developments in the field of information and communication systems security. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of IT security, proficiency in English and a willingness to collaborate in an international educational environment.

The detailed programme of IPICS 2026 includes, among others, thematic sessions covering key areas of modern cybersecurity, such as:

  • Introduction to Cybersecurity
  • Privacy by Design
    Cybersecurity Risk Assessment
    • Identity and Access Governance
    • Cryptography and Cybersecurity
    • Security and Privacy in Data Sharing κ.ά.

The summer school brings together distinguished academics, researchers and experts from universities and research centres in Greece and abroad, creating an international learning environment that promotes knowledge exchange and networking.

For SETPE members, participation in IPICS 2026 can provide a valuable opportunity to enhance the knowledge and skills of their professionals in a field that now has a horizontal impact on the operations of ICT companies — from the design of secure applications and infrastructures to compliance, risk management, data protection and customer trust.

For professionals employed by SETPE member companies, a reduced participation fee of €550 is available, instead of the standard fee of €600. Interested participants should indicate in the registration form the SETPE member company they work for, in order for the relevant discount to be applied.

SETPE invites its member companies to consider the participation of their professionals in IPICS 2026, making use of this important educational initiative that bridges academic knowledge with the real needs of the market, in a field of strategic importance for the future of the digital economy.

The registration deadline is 30 June 2026.
