The 24th Annual Conference of the Hellenic Financial & Accounting Association (H.F.A.A.) was successfully concluded, featuring the participation of EPSILONNET Group Chairman, Mr. Ioannis Michos, in a dedicated session on Artificial Intelligence.
The 24th Annual Conference of the Hellenic Financial & Accounting Association (H.F.A.A.) was held with great success in Athens on 19–20 December, specifically at the Athens University of Economics and Business. The conference was co-organised with the Postgraduate Programmes of the University of Macedonia and the School of Business Administration of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
One of the most important sessions of the event took place on Friday, 19 December, titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Accounting and Finance,” attracting strong interest from professionals, academics, and industry executives.
The keynote speakers of the session were:
- George Pitsilis, Governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR),
- Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos, Secretary General for Information Systems and Digital Governance
- Athanasios Dagoumas, Associate Professor of Energy and Natural Resources Economics, University of Piraeus
- Ioannis Michos, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of the EPSILONNET Group of Companies
- Vasilis Christopoulos, Partner, Deloitte
During the session, the rapid developments driven by Artificial Intelligence in Accounting, Tax Administration, and Financial Services were analysed, along with the challenges and opportunities emerging for businesses and public institutions.
Pitsilis and Anagnostopoulos highlighted the crucial role of Artificial Intelligence in the digital transformation of the economy, e-governance, and tax administration, as well as in improving efficiency, ensuring process transparency, and supporting strategic decision-making, while also emphasizing the importance of proper institutional and technological adaptation.
Mr. Christopoulos highlighted the application of AI in auditing processes, while Mr. Dagoumas, drawing on his experience in the energy sector, raised a series of considerations regarding the comprehensive implementation of AI. Finally, Mr. Michos spoke in detail about the implementation of Artificial Intelligence within EPSILONNET’s information systems, Greece’s largest Business Software company, serving thousands of businesses and independent professionals. At the same time, he illustrated with practical examples the added value that accounting firm professionals and corporate finance teams are already gaining from the integration of AI.
The session confirmed that Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future prospect, but a critical tool in the present for accounting and finance.
