PRESS RELEASE | SETPE: The New Year Begins with a Strategic Institutional Meeting | New Year’s Cake Cutting Ceremony and Memorandum of Cooperation with CERTH for Technology and Innovation Transfer
With the traditional New Year’s cake cutting ceremony, the Association of Hellenic Information Technology Enterprises (SETPE) marks the beginning of the new year at an event that will take place on Friday, 30 January 2026 at 20:00 at Allegro (Building M2) of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
The event will be attended by SETPE members, as well as representatives of the business, political and academic communities, including presidents and representatives of organisations, and SETPE partners.
The event constitutes an important institutional occasion for the Association, combining a festive character with the official start of the new year, while also strengthening dialogue and cooperation across the wider ecosystem.
As part of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation will be signed between the Association of Hellenic Information Technology Enterprises (SETPE) and the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). The Memorandum aims to establish institutional and systematic cooperation between the two organisations, with the objective of connecting research and innovation with entrepreneurship, facilitating the market uptake of research outcomes, and promoting the adoption and utilisation of technology and innovation in the country’s productive sector.
Through this cooperation, the two organisations seek to develop joint initiatives that will strengthen knowledge transfer, open innovation, the networking of research teams with businesses, as well as participation in national and European projects, for the benefit of both their members and the wider economy and society. The Memorandum reflects the shared vision of both organisations for a non-competitive, complementary role, with a strong development impact and long-term value.
