The leading role played by Greek software development and new technology companies in the Balkans was highlighted through the participation of the Association of Hellenic Information Technology Enterprises (SETPE) in the business delegation organised on 30 and 31 March 2026 in Belgrade by the Ministry of Interior (Macedonia–Thrace Sector).

The delegation was carried out with the support of the Embassy of Greece in Serbia, the Hellenic-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Northern Greece, and the Association of Greek Businesses in Serbia.

SETPE was represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Anastasios Manos, who, among other activities, participated in a roundtable discussion on the topic “Entrepreneurship – Shipping – Logistics – Tourism”, held at the Metropol Palace Hotel.

As part of the bilateral contacts, particular importance was given to the institutional meeting with the Serbian IT Association (SITA), represented by Vladan Ostojić, Member of the Board of Directors. The meeting highlighted the potential for institutional cooperation, the exchange of know-how and the development of joint initiatives between the technology ecosystems of the two countries.

“SETPE’s participation in the Ministry of Interior’s delegation to Belgrade was not incidental; it represented a strategic choice for our sector. Greek software companies have all the necessary credentials to play a leading role in the Balkan market: expertise, reliability and experience in critical areas such as digital governance, smart cities and the digital transformation of the public sector. Serbia, thanks to its dynamic IT sector and its strong, trust-based relations with Greece, is one of our most promising partners in the region.”

“Our meeting with the representative of the Serbian IT Association was particularly important. The mutual willingness to exchange know-how, develop joint initiatives and establish institutional links between the two sectors creates a highly promising channel of cooperation, which we have every reason to systematically cultivate. The strong presence of Greek businesses in Belgrade demonstrates that extroversion is no longer a privilege of a few – it is becoming the new standard for the Greek IT sector. SETPE will continue to support this direction through every available means,” stated Mr Manos.

The strong presence of the Greek technology sector in the business delegation was further demonstrated by the participation of five SETPE member companies, represented by their executives. The institutional meetings and bilateral discussions were attended by Anastasios Manos, President and CEO of DOTSOFT, Anastasios Moutzouris, CEO of EPI SYSTEMS, Konstantinos Nasias, CEO of EXEO, Christos Athanasiadis, CEO of ROBOVISION, and Pantelis Angelidis, President of VIDAVO.

Their participation demonstrated in practice that the Greek ecosystem of software and digital solutions possesses the maturity, expertise and outward-looking strategy required to strengthen its presence in Serbia and across the wider Balkan region.

SETPE systematically monitors developments in Southeast Europe and supports every initiative that creates meaningful channels of cooperation for Greek technology companies, strengthening their extroversion, networking opportunities and growth prospects in markets of increased strategic importance.
