Cosmos Business Systems announces the successful completion of the supply, installation and initial configuration of a High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure for the University of Crete, enhancing the Institution’s capabilities in scientific computing, data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications.

The implementation was carried out within the framework of initiatives to strengthen research and innovation at the University of Crete, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility “Greece 2.0” / NextGenerationEU.

The solution includes a comprehensive ecosystem of computing and storage resources, featuring:

• Computing nodes (including a high-performance GPU node), as well as specialised-purpose nodes (e.g. high-memory and service nodes),
• Network infrastructure for reliable interconnection and the efficient handling of high-intensity computing workloads.
• Storage infrastructures to support both performance and capacity requirements, as well as dedicated storage space for user files and HPC applications.
• Power distribution and management infrastructure for safe and controlled operation.

The installation was carried out at the University of Crete’s data centre, with the contractor assuming full responsibility for the deployment, interconnection and initial functional integration of the subsystems. In parallel, basic network and storage configuration was implemented, along with the delivery of management documentation, ensuring that the new infrastructure was immediately ready for use.
