Press Release | Meeting Between MEP Mr. Dimitrios Tsiodras and the Executive Board of SETPE in the Framework of the InnoHealth 2025 Forum | Key Challenges and Opportunities for Greek Software Companies in Europe discussed
Representatives of the Executive Board of the Association of Hellenic Information Technology Enterprises (SETPE) met with New Democracy Member of the European Parliament Mr. Dimitrios Tsiodras on 27 September 2025, in the context of the InnoHealth 2025 Forum held in Larissa on 26–27 September 2025. Participating in the meeting were the Chairman of the Board Mr. Anastassios Manos, the Vice-Chairman Mr. Kostis Kaggelidis, and Board Member Mr. Anastassios Vasileiadis.
The meeting was preceded by a brief tour of the JOIST Innovation Park for Mr. Tsiodras, conducted by Mr. Vasileiadis, providing an overview of the emerging technological ecosystem taking shape in the city. JOIST Innovation Park is an innovation and entrepreneurship hub based in Larissa, serving as a physical and digital node for research, technology, startups, innovative initiatives, and collaboration with academic institutions.
During the meeting, Mr. Tsiodras was presented with a memorandum outlining the Association’s strategic positions and proposals for strengthening Greek small and medium-sized software companies in the European market.
Among other topics, issues were raised regarding the simplification of companies’ access to European funding programs such as Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and InvestEU; the enhancement of their participation in consultations shaping critical regulatory frameworks such as the AI Act, Cybersecurity Act, and Data Act; as well as the more active integration of Greek companies into European networks and alliances.
Particular emphasis was placed on the need to develop European mobility and training programmes for ICT professionals, in the vein of an “Erasmus+ for Professionals”, as well as on SETPE’s participation in shaping the European digital agenda and the EU Digital Compass 2030.
SETPE affirmed its intention to continue an open and active dialogue with the European institutions, ensuring that Greek software companies can play a key role in driving digital transformation, supporting economic growth, and strengthening Europe’s unity.
