Space Hellas announces the undertaking of the project entitled “Digital Infrastructure and Services for the Upgrade of Healthcare Services Provided by the University General Hospital of Thessaloniki ‘AHEPA’”, with a budget of €4,435,425.00 excluding VAT. This is a project of strategic importance, aimed at radically transforming the Hospital’s digital infrastructure, establishing it as a central hub of the healthcare system in Northern Greece and ensuring full alignment with the evolving needs of society and international developments.

As part of the overall project planning, its implementation is funded through the National Development Programme (NDP) 2023–2025 and is included in the Regional Development Programme of Central Macedonia 2021–2025.

The project includes the upgrade of the Data Centre through the adoption of a Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) architecture, as well as the expansion and enhancement of the local network into a high-speed access network. In parallel, it includes the procurement, installation and configuration of system and data security infrastructures, such as perimeter security solutions, secure network access software, DNS protection and endpoint security solutions, in line with modern national and European regulatory requirements (NIS2, Law 5160/2024). In addition, the project provides for the expansion of the wireless network and the deployment of a unified IP communications system.

With a focus on homogeneity and compatibility, and with the primary objective of ensuring a unified level of security to be applied across all systems, Space Hellas selected solutions from the technology manufacturer Cisco.

In addition, Space Hellas has undertaken the 24/7 monitoring of AHEPA’s critical infrastructures through its Security Operations Centre (SOC), providing enhanced protection against cyber threats affecting the integrity, confidentiality and availability of the Hospital’s data. The company will implement security systems in accordance with the international ISO 27001 standard and ensure the Hospital’s business continuity in line with the ISO 22301 standard, while providing training and support to AXEPA’s personnel.

Για την ενίσχυση της ποιότητας των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών υγείας, η Space Hellas επεκτείνει τα υφιστάμενα συστήματα παρακολούθησης περιβαλλοντικών, ενεργειακών και λοιπών κρίσιμων παραμέτρων, αξιοποιώντας δίκτυο ΙοΤ (Internet of Things), συμβάλλοντας έτσι στη βελτίωση της αποδοτικότητας και της εύρυθμης λειτουργίας των υποδομών του Νοσοκομείου.
Παράλληλα, παρέχεται το σύστημα UpToDate, ένα σύγχρονο εργαλείο υποστήριξης κλινικών αποφάσεων, το οποίο θα αξιοποιείται από το ιατρικό και νοσηλευτικό προσωπικό για την ενίσχυση της λήψης τεκμηριωμένων αποφάσεων, βάσει των τελευταίων επιστημονικών εξελίξεων στο χώρο της υγείας. Στόχοι του ΑΧΕΠΑ είναι να διασφαλίσει την πρόσβαση του κοινού σε σύγχρονες υπηρεσίες υγείας, να αναβαθμίσει την ποιότητα των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών και, παράλληλα, να μειώσει τα λειτουργικά του κόστη. Ταυτόχρονα, επιδιώκει να ενισχύσει την ασφάλεια των υποδομών του Νοσοκομείου, θωρακίζοντάς το απέναντι στις ολοένα αυξανόμενες απειλές στον κυβερνοχώρο και διασφαλίζοντας την υψηλή διαθεσιμότητα των συστημάτων και την επιχειρησιακή του συνέχεια.
