The Municipality of Kozani, in collaboration with DOTSOFT, is turning its vision of a modern and efficient Municipality into reality through the implementation of the project “Integrated Digital Platform for the Submission, Management and Monitoring of Requests for Improving Citizens’ Daily Lives through Smart Applications”. This strategic initiative leverages new technologies and places citizens at the centre of the Municipality’s services.

The platform enables every citizen to communicate directly with the Municipality, receive timely updates on matters that concern them, and actively participate in shaping the everyday life of the city.

What the new platform offers

• Service without bureaucracy: Through the new web and mobile applications, citizens can submit electronic applications and requests for certificates, receive a protocol number and track their progress step by step, from submission to completion.
• Unified document and workflow management system: All requests are recorded and electronically routed to the relevant services, ensuring faster processing and reducing bureaucracy.
• Cleaner city: With the installation of tablets in 30 waste collection vehicles, personnel will be able to record issues and incidents in real time, enabling immediate action and response.
• Continuous citizen updates: Residents will have access to news, events, Municipal Council decisions, civil protection information, as well as useful details such as on-duty pharmacies, hospitals, municipal services and points of interest.
• Participation and interaction: Through questionnaires and interactive communication tools, citizens will be able to express their views and contribute to the improvement of municipal services.
• Smart Parking: The platform introduces a modern controlled parking system with mobile payment capabilities. Through the installation of 25 underground sensors at ramps and accessible parking spaces, their proper use is ensured and accessibility is enhanced. At the same time, the Municipal Police will have access to tools for more effective monitoring, while interoperability with the platform’s other applications ensures unified and efficient operation.
• Support for schools: A dedicated application for school principals, enabling them to submit requests related to the smooth operation and management of school units.
• Central data and decision-making platform: All information (citizen requests, incidents and parking data) is consolidated into a single dashboard, providing decision-makers with a comprehensive overview of the Municipality’s operations and supporting informed decision-making.

A project delivering value to citizens

Through this project, the Municipality of Kozani is establishing itself among the pioneers of digital transformation, creating a more modern, “smart” and citizen-friendly city.

The project is funded through the Operational Programme “REGION OF WESTERN MACEDONIA”, while the services are expected to become available to citizens by mid-2026.
